Group presentations reflection

Reflection on presentations
For the start of the semester, professor Sinkoff and class leaders Andrea and Monica divided the class into three groups and assigned each group a chapter from the class book. Each group had to create a presentation based off the chapter they received. I feel that this was a well-formed assignment as we each decided how to divide sections of the chapters among each other and communicated well to perform this task. From the three groups I was in the last group which presented Group Leadership and Problem Solving.
-Group 1-
Group one was assigned chapter three and their topic was Intercultural Communication. Their presentation was interesting because in today's society there are many different cultural backgrounds, beliefs and religions. They explained that there are many different beliefs but each one is respected. This group divided sections of the chapter among each other to complete an organized presentation. I liked that this group remained on topic and each person was ready to present when the time came to them, this helped keep a consistent flow throughout the entire presentation. Although the presentations information was accurate and each person knew what was going on, I noticed that most of the individuals were reading word for word off their slides. This shows that they were not well prepared to present and that they were not at knowledge of their section. Another thing that I noticed was that they inserted videos that took up time, they could have put less videos and more spoken information.
-Group 2-
Group two presented chapter nine, and the topic was Communication in groups. This group gave a visible explanation for the information they provided. They provided many images which have a better understanding of what they were presenting. Just like the first group they played many videos, although videos are a good way to encourage an audience to better understand a topic, they were too long taking up the time for the other members to present. Some of the presenters were also reading word for word off the slides with no further explanation which shows that they were not engaged and just wanted to get over with it quickly. I noticed that there were members missing to present during their presentation time and the professor ended up explaining these slides. I believe that communicating before a group presentation is required in order to make sure everyone is there and ready to present. To conclude, I believe that overall, this group presented important information that applied to the entire class during this assignment.
-Group 3-
Group three presented chapter ten and the topic was group leadership and problem-solving. This is the group that I was part of and presented in. I believe that me and my group communicated since the first day it was assigned to make sure we all had equal work divided among us and to make sure it was all done before the due date. I liked how we only included one video for the presentation in order to give each other time to present all in the same day. Just like the other groups we had some mistakes that could be fixed for future presentations. One mistake that could be fixed is turning on our cameras throughout our presentation we followed each other's steps and none of us turned on our cameras. This is an important part of presenting because if you don't show yourself the audience could not see body language which plays a big part when evaluating the motivation while presenting. Overall, I enjoyed all presentations and learned something new from each and will use for better performance in future presentations.
Great awesome job!!!
