Group Presentations Reflection

Last week the whole class made a presentation about communication and groups. We were divided into three groups. The first group was about (Intercultural Communication), the second one was about (Communication in groups) and the third one (Group leadership and Problem Solving). I was in the last group.

My experience was really good, I am really inspired and supporter of the actual fact that now in this society are allow different beliefs, different ways of people expressing themselves. Also, people now have different religions, the best part of it is that are respected, back in the days they weren’t, actually, my family believes in GOD, another thing that I loved about the first group is that other generations have different cultures and way of act, talk, think, in general, other times things were different in all perspectives. For example, my dad is 83 years old and he doesn’t understand technology nowadays. Back on his days people used to do pretty much everything in person. One topic that I really paid attention to was the communicating groups(families) that have so much impact on people, the fact that by your family you can believe in things or think some type of way about things that come your way. Families, I think are the most important because is basically who you were raised with, so they are going to guide, educate, form yourself as a person for life. I also can't forget about social groups, simply because when you don’t have any friends, eventually if you play some type of gaming console, for example, XBOX, you are going to find people like you, that can relate with you by things that had happened to you and eventually create friendships from there. Great ones actually, also those same people are going to become a big role in your life, you are going to talk to them every day, share emotions, thoughts, opinions, ideas, and you are going to build your character as a person.

I liked the fact that we could work as a team. I know that working as a group is often very challenging in college but learning to work well with others is important for anyone who plans on pursuing a career. The presentations were very productive, and every group member did a great job. They explain and talk in a way that everyone could understand, and it was not boring, I believe that everyone enjoyed it. I know for a fact that the presentations were not perfect, but everyone did the best and with the time we will be improving our way of expressing ourselves. We all should give ourselves high marks for our tangible contributions to our group.

In conclusion, I believe that the speech was effective and kept the audience interested. The delivery was generally clear and organized, but I know that I still need to work more on the speech flow and find more effective ways to engage the audience. That's why with this presentation and many more, we all will be able to express ourselves in a better way.
